X-Men Origins: Wolverine - A review

Unlike many critics, I actually am a fan of the 3rd X-Men movie, "The last Stand". It's my favorite X-Men film so far. If you haven't seen it yet please do not read any future.

In X-men: The last stand, I couldn't believe they killed professor X so quickly almost in the beginning of the movie. Can you imagine the X-Men without professor Xavier? I couldn't and yet, they still managed to deliver a good if not thrilling movie that kept your complete attention until the very end. It's a good movie in my opinion. You need to understand that unlike many people who write online about the X-Men films, I have never read a single X-Men comic. I was however a fan of the animated series. Because I liked the animated series I didn't quite enjoy the first and second movies. The live action characters were just not like they are in the series physically and my favorite X-Men Gambit was no where to be seen. Then came X-Men Origins: Wolverine.

X-Men Origins: Wolverine is about Logan. The story starts before the Civil War. We meet Logan and Victor, two brothers, their relationship evolves throughout time as they grow up until the 70s(?) were they both are involved with an elite secret US Military squad of mutants under the commandment of General Stryker.

Logan ends up quitting the squad when they are asked to kill innocent civilians. Victor doesn't seem to have a problem with it, so the brothers part way and hate each other with all they guts. Logan starts a new life in Canada where he works as a lumberjack and lives with his girlfriend Kayla Silverfox.

Many new mutants are introduced along the way, Gambit, Sabretooth, Deadpool etc... And you'll also see a familiar mutant come back in a younger version.

Wolverine is a movie about revenge. It has a simple and straightforward story and can be easily followed without getting a headache. It's an action packed summer movie just the way we like them.
